(2) Tell us a little bit about you…
I am currently a worship leader and ccm artist, based in South Korea. It’s a blessing to be able to worship and share God’s love to the next generation in Asia as my full time job. I also teach worship music at a university in Korea. I am married to my beautiful wife, Jenny. And we have the cutest dog in the world named Happy! He’s a Maltese.
We’re going to feature worship leader Brian Kim tomorrow. He’s from Texas and lives in South Korea. I can’t wait to talk with him. While you wait, here’s some worship from Hillsong, played by yours truly.
On Facebook, tonight, Robbie Seay (@robbieseay, Facebook) asks some pertinent questions about our worship in churches, and worship songwriting in general. What are your answers to these questions?
1. Does the church seem to value replication & performance in its music over imagination & honesty in songwriting -unique to each community?
2. Can creativity in music & art within the church overshadow the gospel and true worship? Should creativity have boundaries in the church?
3. Are worship leaders under such pressure to perform & be excellent that they often end up void of creativity & depth in their writing?

(2) What about this “dream?”
It was around Valentine’s Day, 2006. I was in the midst of learning more about the historicity of Jesus and of the words of Jesus from the New Testament in an Alpha course at my church.
I am starting this blog/podcast/webcast for two reasons:
First, I want to expose worship leaders throughout the world to new worship music for our churches; and, second, I want to support the Christian music industry and those artists that you probably have not heard of. This, of course, includes me, your host. 🙂
My name is Rob Reed, and I am the Worship Leader at LIFEhouse Church in Northridge, California. Â We do a mostly contemporary service, covering such worship artists as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, and more.
